Thai Media Fund embraces Government’s Soft Power policy by hosting “2025 International Creative Content Creators (2025 ICCC)” to elevate Thailand’s media industry to the global stage. The event aims to foster international content exchange while promoting Thailand’s cultural capital and indigenous knowledge across various sectors, including film, series, and digital media. With the goal of increasing global recognition and acceptance, the initiative highlights Thailand’s growing influence in the creative industry. Currently, Thailand’s video streaming market is thriving, generating over 14 billion Baht in economic value, with strong prospects for continued growth in the future.at Samyan Mitrtown Hall, Mr. Suksit Srichomkwan, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs, presided over the opening ceremony of the “2025 International Creative Content Creators” event and delivered a keynote speech on “Thailand’s Soft Power Policy and Government Support.” The event was attended by Dr. Dhanakorn Srisooksai, CEO of Thai Media Fund, along with senior executives.
Mr. Suksit Srichomkwan, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs, stated that Soft Power is a key driver in shaping Thailand’s future in an era of rapid global transformation and increasing interconnectedness. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the government aims to foster sustainable national development by promoting and enhancing Thailand’s 14 unique Soft Power sectors, ensuring they gain global recognition.
There is significant support for incorporating Thailand’s cultural assets into media formats such as films, series, and digital content, which are effective channels for promoting Thai culture and raising global awareness. The development of Soft Power through the promotion of Thai wisdom will be a key driver in boosting the economy and enhancing the country’s image. By harnessing the existing values and potential within Thai society, this approach aims to maximize their benefits.
Additionally, the government, through the Ministry of Culture, plays a key role in driving, supporting, and advancing Soft Power initiatives, particularly in the film industry. The Media Fund for Safe and Creative Development has continuously promoted Soft Power by providing grants to media producers. These grants focus on generating added value from cultural assets or Soft Power, including the production of TV series, films, and other media that can spread Soft Power to international markets.
Therefore, today’s event serves to reinforce the government’s policies and strategies by offering a platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and present ongoing and future projects. The aims are to raise awareness and spark creativity among local media sector,enabling participants to improve their work and organizations for greater effectiveness. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to drive economic growth through the creative economy and ensure its genuine success.
Dr. Dhanakorn Srisooksai, CEO of Thai Media Fund, also shared that the “2025 International Creative Content Creators (2025 ICCC)” event is designed to enhance the skills and creativity of Thai media producers. Over the course of three days, participants will have the opportunity to learn and develop diverse content, with a focus on showcasing innovative ideas from Thai creators to global audiences, ultimately driving revenue. The event features a range of distinguished speakers, including experts in media production, creators, producers, scriptwriters, and OTT platforms, both local and international. They will provide valuable insights into industry trends, the creative process, and techniques for producing high-quality content. This initiative aims to equip media producers with new skills, improve production processes, foster professional growth, and support the creative economy, ultimately strengthening Thailand’s media industry and helping it thrive on the international level.
“Over the past decade, Thailand’s media landscape has transformed significantly, prompting various sectors to adapt. In my view, media production has evolved significantly, with Thai content—films, documentaries, TV shows, series, dramas, and digital advertising—becoming much more creative and innovative,” Dr. Dhanakorn emphasized.
Dr. Dhanakorn went on to highlight that the streaming market has become deeply embedded in everyday life and is fiercely competitive, with platforms offering a wide variety of content to engage their audiences. While global platforms dominate, Thailand’s potential—both in terms of content creators and its large fanbase—is becoming increasingly apparent. The intense competition for the Thai market is fueled by its significant value. Thai dramas and series, popular on free-to-air TV, are also being streamed across various platforms due to their growing international fanbase. Some platforms even provide funding for Thai original content. According to Statista data from 2024, the total value of Thailand’s video streaming market is estimated at 14 billion Baht, with an average annual growth rate of 12%, and it is expected to keep growing in the years ahead.
Dr. Dhanakorn concluded by stating, “The 2025 ICCC event is not only an important platform for Thai media creators to expand their potential and improve production processes, but also a catalyst for promoting Thailand’s soft power to the global stage. Furthermore, this event serves as a channel for building new networks, allowing industry professionals, both domestic and international, to meet and exchange knowledge. This will help stimulate and promote global economic growth in a stable and sustainable manner.”
